We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to work with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver care/interventions to clients who have a learning disability under the supervision of the team psychologist.
This role covers the east locality of the county.

Main duties of the job
The assistant will:
* Carry out assessment and direct interventions under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist
* Support multi-disciplinary multi-agency teams and work with staff, families and carers.
* Contribute to teaching, training and research in the department.
* Be expected to carry a clinical caseload, under supervision.

Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
Essential
* A 2nd class honours degree, or higher, in psychology, recognised by the BPS
* An ability to work independently, reliably and consistently with work agreed and managed at regular intervals
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
* Experience of working as an (Hon./Intern) Assistant Psychologist with people with cognitive and/or communication difficulties.
* Experience of assessment or psychological testing.
Desirable
* Experience of working as an (Hon./Intern) Assistant Psychologist or Support Worker with People with Learning Disabilities in health or social care settings.
Skills and Abilities
Essential
* High level of communication skills, written and verbal, including the ability to relate to Adults with Learning Disabilities and their support networks
* An ability to apply existing psychological knowledge within a health context.
