About the Role:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming primary school in Shrewsbury, working specifically with a Year 4 class. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact in a child’s educational journey, supporting both their academic progress and emotional development.
As a Year 4 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support to pupils, helping to create an inclusive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
* Providing individualised support and assistance to all pupils in Year 4
* Collaborating with the classroom teacher to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
* Supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development
* Promoting independence, self-confidence, and positive behaviour
* Adapting teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
* Assisting with the assessment of student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents
* Fostering positive relationships with pupils and maintaining open communication with parents and staff
* Upholding the school's values, policies, and safeguarding procedures
Requirements:
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to provide emotional support where needed
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving classroom demands
* Knowledge of relevant teaching resources and intervention strategies
* Relevant educational qualifications are desirable but not essential
* Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent)
* Previous experience working in a Year 4 classroom
* A strong understanding of individual learning needs and how to support them
