Young People's Supported Accommodation (YPSA)

In partnership with Response, we provide supported accommodation for 18–21 year-olds, combining safe housing with coaching in education, employment, training and life skills. Young people learn tools for mental health, financial independence and healthy relationships.

Job Purpose

The YPSA Manager ensures progression coaches deliver excellent coaching and youth work, both at home and in the community. You will drive ambitious outcomes so residents grow to see themselves as future change makers. Working closely with partners, you'll secure opportunities in education, training and employment while overseeing staff training, activities and safeguarding practice.

Key Responsibilities

Value young people's voices through forums and participation in service design.

Ensure pathway plans reflect assessed needs and aspirations.

Provide leadership and supervision to coaches and staff.

Maintain strong safeguarding practices, risk assessments and emergency cover.

Work collaboratively with partner organisations and local authorities.

Oversee evidence-based interventions, evaluations and performance monitoring.

Lead recruitment, induction and training of staff.

Ensure accurate record keeping, reporting and GDPR compliance.

Support fundraising, marketing and youth engagement teams with service updates.

Act as a professional role model, upholding boundaries, equality and diversity.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding children, young people and adults is everyone's business. Training, supervision and DBS checks are required. Concerns must be reported in line with policy.

Person Specification

Essential

Experience in a managerial/coordinator role.

Managing/coordinating teams.

Understanding of young people's mental health and CYP services.

Proven record in service management.

Full UK driving licence and car.

Strong communication, organisational and people management skills.

Ability to assess risk, solve problems, motivate staff and work flexibly.

IT proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Commitment to Oxfordshire Youth's vision, equality, learning and accountability.

Desirable

Management/vocational qualifications.

Experience in youth work, mental health or social care.

Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches.

Not-for-profit sector experience.

Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Slack, ).
