This role will be 5 days Office-based however, occasional visits to manufacturing sites, warehouses, distribution centres, or logistics partners across EMENA & India.
The Role
The Logistics Director EMENA is responsible for leading and managing the inhouse and third party logistics operations of the company, including transportation, warehousing, distribution, supply chain coordination and supporting inventory management within the territory. The role ensures the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods while meeting customer service and regulatory compliance standards. The Logistics Director should be expected to stand in for the VP of SC in senior leadership team meetings.
* Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure efficient, reliable, and cost-effective transportation and distribution operations.
* Oversee day-to-day logistics operations including planning, transportation, warehousing, and support inventory management.
* Negotiate contracts with logistics providers, carriers, and third-party vendors to optimize service levels and cost efficiency.
* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess and improve operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
* Ensure compliance with all national and international regulations regarding shipping, customs, and transportation.
* Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to align logistics strategies and deliver key business objectives.
* Lead, develop, and mentor a team of logistics operators, managers and staff to drive performance and professional growth.
* Define, implement and maintain logistics technologies and systems (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP) to enhance operational visibility and accuracy.
* Manage the EMENA logistics budget, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
The Person
Education
* Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience
* Significant experience in logistics or supply chain management in a highly regulated industry, preferably pharmaceuticals.
* Experience in a leadership or director-level role overseeing complex logistics operations.
Skills
* Deep knowledge of logistics systems, transportation management, distribution planning and distribution network design.
* Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency with logistics and supply chain software (e.g., SAP, TMS, WMS systems).
