Role: The Purpose of the role is to be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of all warehouse activities. This includes overseeing receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfilment, shipping, personnel management, and maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant facility. The role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
* Champion a culture of safety. Enforce all company safety policies, HSE regulations, and safe material handling practices.
* Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and risk assessments. Ensure proper use of PPE.
* Maintain warehouse security to prevent theft, damage, or loss of inventory.
* Foster a positive, safe, and productive work environment. Promote teamwork and resolve conflicts.
* Set clear performance expectations, provide coaching, and conduct performance reviews & Manage labour hours and staffing levels to meet operational demands efficiently.
* Oversee daily warehouse operations: receiving, put-away, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
* Ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of customer orders (internal or external) to achieve above 98% OTIF rate
* Reduce Quality Complaint (CSI) year on year related to the warehouse operation (Third Party lost / split delivery, DAMAGED/FAULTY - Non-merchantable quality – Product, WRONG ITEM - Picking Error, SHORTAGE - Picking error etc)
* Develop, implement, and optimize warehouse processes and standard operating procedures (RASP’s/SOPs) for maximum efficiency and accuracy.
* Manage inbound and outbound logistics coordination with carriers and suppliers, while managing costs
* Implement and maintain robust inventory control procedures to ensure cycle counts and periodic physical inventories are conducted accurately and on schedule.
* Assist in developing and managing the warehouse operating budget & Oversee the maintenance and safe operation of all warehouse equipment
* Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time shipping, receiving accuracy, inventory accuracy, productivity rates, and cost per unit handled linked to the daily management process.
* Uto;oze and optimize the Warehouse management Systems to ensure data integrity within the WMS and ERP (IFS) systems.
Skills & Requirements:
* Level 4 Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred), OR equivalent significant experience.
* HSE Qualification such as IOSHH, and Warehouse supervision or management experience within manufacturing environment.
* Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management principles, and supply chain processes.
* Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse teams.
* Operational Expertise: Proven track record in process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost reduction.
* Technical Proficiency: Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software (e.g., IFS, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel essential).
* Safety Focus: In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety regulations (HSE) and best practices. Forklift certification knowledge/oversight.
* Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
* Organizational & Planning Skills: Excellent ability to prioritize, plan, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of staff, management, vendors, and carriers.
* Lean/Six Sigma certification, would be an advantage & Experience with specific WMS/ERP platforms.
