Overview
We are seeking several ambitious and driven Data Centre Engineering Shift Managers to join our growing Data Centre Operations team on a newly built state of the art facility. This role involves managing the next generation of AI-ready, mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems within data centres, with a focus on precision, reliability, and innovation to power the digital world. Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire a team of shift engineers, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
* Oversee all planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
* Act as an Authorised Person (HV), maintaining a safe system of work and ensuring all compliance documentation is in place.
* Respond rapidly and effectively to real-time incidents and alarms, ensuring minimal downtime and clear communication.
* Manage Permit to Work systems, review RAMS, and uphold the highest safety and operational standards.
* Drive continuous improvement across the site — optimising performance, energy efficiency, and reliability.
* Mentor and develop your team, delivering technical training, toolbox talks, and professional growth opportunities.
* Represent the operations team with professionalism and technical authority in all client and vendor interactions.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as an Engineering Shift Manager or Supervisor within data centre or mission-critical operations.
* Strong technical background with High Voltage Authorisation.
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in electrical or mechanical engineering.
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and Emergency First Aid at Work certification.
* Demonstrable experience managing real-time incidents and coordinating engineering teams under pressure.
* A proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
