Medicines Coordinator Pharmacy Hub (maternity cover)

We are seeking a Medicines Coordinator to join our Primary Care Network Medicines Service Hub. This is a key administrative role supporting safe and effective medicines and prescription processes across PCN practices, working closely with pharmacists, clinical teams, GP practices and community pharmacies.
The post is primarily based at the Primary Pharmacy Hub (location to be confirmed), with regular work at Lisson Grove and Woolwell Medical Centres. There may also be occasional work across other PCN sites as required.
Terms and Conditions:
* 38 hour week
* Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (08:00 18:00hrs with 30min unpaid lunch break)

* This is a maternity cover role for 9 months with possibility of extension to 12 months
Main duties of the job
As a Medicines Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day to day processing of prescription requests and medicine related queries from patients and pharmacies. Requests are received via electronic systems, paper and email.
The role involves managing a high volume of administrative tasks and telephone queries in a fast paced environment. You will work under the operational direction of the Pharmacy Service Supervisor, with strategic oversight from the Operations Manager, and will provide essential support to the wider multidisciplinary team.
* Processing prescription requests received from patients and pharmacies
* Responding to prescription related queries by telephone and email
* Making outbound calls to patients, clinicians and pharmacies as required
* Processing clinical documents and tasks in line with Pharmacy Hub procedures
* Using clinical and non clinical IT systems accurately and efficiently
* Providing administrative and patient facing support across the Hub and PCN
* Supporting clinics, events and service activity as required
Duties will vary on a daily basis depending on workload and service needs.

You will be joining a supportive PCN team within an expanding Pharmacy Service Hub. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills within primary care and contribute directly to patient safety, medicines optimisation and service delivery across practices.
Training and development will be provided to support you in the role.
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* Experience working with the general public in a supportive or service focused role
* Confident using a computer as the primary tool for daily work
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
* Experience working in a healthcare or pharmacy setting
* Experience of high volume telephone and administrative work
* Experience using clinical systems such as SystmOne
* Relevant healthcare or administrative qualifications
