Contract: 3-month, full-time fixed-term contract

Location: Remote/hybrid, with some office presence in London

Salary: £32,000 per annum

Please note: This post is only available to applicants from the LGBTQ+ community, as permitted under the Equality Act 2010 as a Genuine Occupational Requirement.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) to provide short-term, specialist support to LGBTQ+ survivors of sexual violence. This is a full-time, 3-month fixed-term position based within a trauma-informed, person-centred, and empowerment-focused service.

This role focuses on advocacy and practical support for individuals impacted by sexual violence, including engagement with the criminal justice system, emotional and practical assistance, and multi-agency partnership working.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide direct support, advocacy, and advice to LGBTQ+ survivors of sexual violence.
* Maintain a caseload and deliver needs-led, trauma-informed interventions.
* Support clients in engaging with the criminal justice system, including police processes, court attendance, and post-trial support.
* Offer support around access to Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs), forensic medical exams, and other relevant health services.
* Assist clients with safety planning and access to housing, welfare, and legal remedies.
* Work in partnership with external agencies to ensure joined-up care and safeguarding.
* Maintain accurate and confidential records on a case management system in line with GDPR and service policies.

Essential Skills and Experience

* Experience supporting survivors of sexual violence in an advocacy or support role.
* Knowledge of the impacts of sexual violence on LGBTQ+ individuals and the unique barriers they may face.
* Understanding of safeguarding best practice (for both children and adults at risk).
* Ability to manage a busy caseload and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong partnership working skills and experience working within multi-agency settings.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
* Understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred, and empowerment-based support models.

This is a vital role within a dedicated LGBTQ+ advocacy team, supporting survivors through complex and sensitive experiences. The successful candidate will bring professionalism, empathy, and a strong understanding of the needs of LGBTQ+ communities affected by sexual violence.
