Job Description
Overview: An opportunity to support and learn from our Senior Leaders, with the goal of developing your career into an outstanding Support Worker with a Level 3 or 4 NVQ in Residential Childcare.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain a warm, empathic manner that makes each child and young person feel valued and loved.
* Be willing to give hugs but also recognize when giving space is more appropriate.
* Listen actively and be curious about what you can learn from young people.
* Understand and be resilient to changing relationships, which may fluctuate from strong bonds to distance or conflict.
* Be able to have fun at work while also supporting and soothing overwhelming emotions.
* Read and support the updating of personal plans, often with interruptions, within your shift hours.
* Be open to engaging with children and young people in activities like styling hair or participating in hobbies.
* Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as cooking dinner while entertaining teenagers, demonstrating good multitasking skills.
* Possessing knowledge of football, Xbox, TikTok videos, or diverse hobbies is advantageous.
While much of the role is enjoyable, it also involves completing paperwork and evidencing daily achievements to capture special moments for the children’s reflection, even into adulthood.
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check.
