About the role:
We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Material Planner to join the JCB Transmissions team. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the consistent and efficient flow of materials into our transmission manufacturing operations. Working closely with internal stakeholders and a global supplier base, you’ll help support production schedules in a fast‑paced, high‑quality engineering environment. This role requires strong planning capability, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
What does this role involve day to day?
1. Managing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) from an international supply base, aligned to transmission production schedules and engineering changes
2. Ensuring continuity of supply for all components required for transmission assembly and manufacturing
3. Monitoring supplier performance against agreed schedules and addressing any supply risks or deviations
4. Managing inventory by maintaining MRP parameters, reviewing stock levels against budget, and ensuring transactional accuracy
5. Driving proactive reviews and continuous improvement across suppliers, logistics, transport, and packaging solutions
6. Maintaining performance standards in line with agreed KPIs
7. Leading or supporting problem‑solving activities and process improvement initiatives within the supply chain
This will be suited to you if…
8. You have demonstrable experience in materials planning, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment
9. You have strong working knowledge of SAP or similar production planning systems
10. You’re a confident communicator, comfortable working with suppliers and cross‑functional internal teams
11. You’re highly PC‑literate and confident working with complex data and reporting tools
12. You’re organised, detail‑driven, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
13. You thrive under pressure, enjoy solving problems, and can work to tight deadlines
14. You’re motivated by delivering results and driving continuous improvement
