Qualifications:
There are a number of pathways to become a Structural Engineer. At minimum, you will need 4 or more GCSEs grades A-C (9-4) and at least 2 A Levels or BTEC equivalent.
Level 3: Study a BTEC Subsidiary or Extended Diploma in Construction & the Built Environment or Civil Engineering, or an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering.
Level 4, 5 & 6: Study a HNC, HND, Higher Apprenticeship, or Degree in Construction and the Built Environment, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related subjects.
Salary:
* Newly trained structural engineers can earn £19,000 - £25,000
* Trained structural engineers with some experience can earn £25,000 - £45,000
* Senior, chartered, or master structural engineers can earn £45,000 - £55,000
