We are thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for a part time compassionate and patient-focused Senior Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Neuro Rehabilitation Team within the Dudley Rehabilitation Service. We are a multidisciplinary team who provide rehabilitation in the community, in patients' own homes and outpatient clinic settings. As a core member of our integrated team you will conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans promoting independence towards meaningful goals. You will be an autonomous practitioner, manage your own caseload, and use evidence‑based practice to guide your interventions. You will engage in clinical supervision, continuous professional development, contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement projects. We support you to showcase leadership by supervising junior staff and students. This role is ideal for Occupational Therapists seeking to specialise in neurological rehabilitation and advance leadership skills.
Responsibility
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of motor, sensory, cognitive and functional abilities.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
* Coordinate safe and effective discharge planning in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
* Provide expertise in specialist seating and equipment recommendations.
* Maintain accurate patient records.
* Supervise and support junior staff and students.
* Contribute to service development initiatives and continuous professional development activities.
* Manage a defined caseload and demonstrate autonomous practice.
Qualifications and Experience
* Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Registered with HCPC.
* Post‑graduate experience working with patients who have long‑term neurological conditions.
* Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
* Completed junior rotations or equivalent rehabilitation experience across a variety of clinical settings.
* Good knowledge of current best practice and clinical guidelines in neuro rehabilitation.
* Desirable: Practice Educators qualification.
* Desirable: Experience supervising junior staff and students.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including observation, listening and empathy.
* Analytical, judgement and organisational skills, including time management and task prioritisation.
* Ability to work independently and in isolation, as well as within a team.
