Protocol Education is assisting a secondary school in Redcar to recruit a dedicated and reliable Site Supervisor.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take responsibility for the security, maintenance, and smooth running of the school site. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the school is a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, parents, and visitors.
About the Role:
1. Ensure the school buildings and grounds are secure, tidy, and well maintained
2. Open and close the premises, including gates and buildings, ensuring site safety for all users
3. Carry out regular cleaning duties, including windows, communal areas, and external grounds
4. Manage rubbish collection, disposal, and recycling, keeping all areas free of hazards
5. Perform minor repairs and maintenance, and report larger issues to the Facilities Manager
6. Undertake grounds maintenance, including sweeping paths, removing weeds, disinfecting bins, and keeping outdoor areas hazard-free
7. Support school lettings by preparing and securing facilities as required
8. Ensure fire escape routes are kept clear and assist with fire marshal duties during emergencies
9. Oversee heating, lighting, and water systems, including switching off equipment and maintaining safe boiler room conditions
10. Assist with deliveries, porterage, and setting up halls and rooms for school functions
11. Maintain accurate site records, including a site diary

What We’re Looking For:
15. Previous experience in site management, caretaking, or a similar role
16. Strong practical skills in maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs
17. Understanding of health and safety requirements and the ability to identify hazards
18. Reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
19. Good communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with staff, students, contractors, and visitors
20. Commitment to safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of students
21. Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the school and undertake additional reasonable duties
