We are currently recruiting for a Community Engagement Officer to help with the implementation of Platform’s Customer & Community Engagement Strategy. As a Community Engagement Officer, you will work closely with customers to build strong and safe communities by organising and developing a wide range of community engagement activities and projects.
This role will require travel around a geographical area including Stratford-Upon-Avon, West Oxfordshire, West Northamptonshire, Stroud, Cheltenham, and Gloucester. While this role is home-based, a full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the locality are essential. Business mileage expenses are reimbursed from your home address as per HMRC mileage rates.
This is a part-time role working 17.5 hours per week.
What you can expect from the role
You will establish contact within the community through meetings and outreach work to identify local issues and collaborate on solutions.
Understanding local community needs will enable you to support and manage community-based programmes promoting a healthy and happy environment for our customers. You will organise and develop community engagement activities aligned with our strategic objectives.
Teamwork is central to our approach at Platform Housing Group, involving collaboration with other organisations, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
What we are looking for in you
* Experience in a community-based role or supporting projects aimed at community development.
* Excellent communication skills for working with customers and external stakeholders.
* An understanding of the challenges faced within social housing and our organisational values.
* Ability to find innovative ways to engage with communities successfully.
* Experience in empowering communities to find solutions is advantageous.
* A DBS check will be required before employment.
* Must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, with regular travel expected within the community areas.
