About the Role We are seeking an experienced SEMH Tutor from any subject background to make a genuine difference to students’ lives. Your role will focus on those with a range of SEMH needs—including anxiety, dyslexia, and low self-esteem—helping each learner build confidence, resilience, and real academic progress. Your responsibilities will include: Assessing individual needs and designing tailored, impactful learning plans Delivering engaging lessons that meet each student where they are Creating a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment Building strong, trusting relationships that support emotional and academic growth Monitoring progress and evolving your approach for maximum impact Working collaboratively with families, schools, and outside professionals About You You are a compassionate, creative educator who: Has QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or 5 years’ teaching/tutoring experience Demonstrates practical experience with SEMH needs such as anxiety, dyslexia, and low self-esteem Can assess, plan, and deliver a bespoke scheme of work Adapts your teaching style to bring out the best in every learner Communicates with clarity, empathy, and professionalism Uplifts, motivates, and inspires each student to achieve their own success Enhanced DBS required.
