Overview

Community Fundraiser - South West, Wales & West Midlands

The Brain Tumour Charity is leading the way in research, support, and advocacy for everyone affected by brain tumours. Our mission is to accelerate a cure and improve life for everyone affected. The Community Fundraising Team supports a diverse range of supporter-led fundraising activities and plans for 25/26. You will be one of 6 Regional Community Fundraisers, covering the South West, Wales & West Midlands, engaging Individuals, Supporter Groups, Community organisations, Regional Corporates & Volunteers through exceptional stewardship and fundraising support.

You will be passionate about the role and support the delivery of strategic plans and objectives across the Region. This is a remote role, contracted to the Fleet, Hampshire office, with a 37.5 hour week and regular out-of-hours and weekend work.


Location and Hours

Location: While contracted to our office in Fleet, Hampshire, this role is remote.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week. Regular out of hours & weekend working is inherent in this role.


Salary

Benchmarked salary: c. £31,950 (dependent on level)


Responsibilities

* Developing & implementing a Regional Community Fundraising Strategy for 25/26.
* Achieving agreed regional fundraising KPIs & contributing to annual fundraising budgets and targets.
* Recruiting, building and maintaining relationships with the Community across the Region to increase fundraising and participation in events and activities.
* Recruiting, training and managing a network of regional volunteers to support activity in the Region.
* Collaborating with the wider Charity Team to identify fundraising opportunities and maximise income in the region.
* Keeping our CRM up to date with supporter information and using data to understand motivations and provide excellent stewardship.


Experience

* Record of achievement in a community, corporate or events team role.
* Experience promoting and supporting DIY & Supporter-led activities including livestreaming, virtual events & seasonal Community Fundraising products.
* Recruiting, supporting and supervising volunteers.
* Ability to work as part of a flexible team and contribute to group and individual goals & KPIs.
* Experience delivering high income targets and working remotely.
* Experience with a relational CRM database and cross-team collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* Understanding of Community Fundraising & Supporter Groups and how they contribute to The Brain Tumour Charity’s goals.
* Current fundraising principles and practice; budgets and cost-effective fundraising.
* Marketing techniques to drive recruitment & participation.
* Organised, self-starter with initiative; empathetic to the Charity’s aims.
* Excellent, confident and persuasive communicator at all levels (written, oral, public speaking).
* Self-reliant IT user (email, databases, spreadsheets, desktop publishing and MS Office).
* Comfort with online social networking & relationship building.
* Ability to manage a varied and complex workload with competing priorities; travel within the UK and to meetings as required.
* Hold a UK driving licence and be willing to travel within the UK.
