Underskiddaw Parish Council - Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer (RFO)
Job description
Underskiddaw Parish Council seeks a confident person with an interest in the local community for the post of Clerk to the Parish Council and responsible Financial Officer (RFO) to start in January 2026 or sooner if possible.
The Clerk / RFO is responsible for managing the Council's day to day business, providing advice, and implementing decisions. Applicants will need to be computer literate, able to prepare council agendas and record minutes, be familiar with bookkeeping and financial procedures and be able to correspond with external organisations on behalf of the Council.
The Council has implemented Scribe accounts and full training will be provided. Working hours are 16 per month and the salary is in accordance with the nationally agreed scale LC1 point depending on experience.
With the exception of meetings attendance, the post holder will be expected to work from home. A working from home allowance of £26 per month will be paid to help cover the cost of this. The council will also provide a laptop and printer, should they be needed, for the successful applicant.
The Council meets on a Tuesday afternoon every other month, with other meetings being called as required.
A training programme will be provided if necessary and the council will support any successful applicant to achieve the Certificate in Local Council Administration qualification should that be required.
