Overview

The Waiting Times Department plays a vital role in managing the booking of outpatient, inpatient, and day case services across NHS Dumfries & Galloway. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join our friendly team and help drive improvements in patient access and service delivery.


As Team Leader, You Will

* Take responsibility for the effective day to day management of waiting lists.
* Provide direct line management to the booking team.
* Offer support, training, and guidance to other waiting list users, including staff across multiple acute services.
* Play a key role in meeting waiting time targets, ensuring patients receive timely access to their appointments.

We want someone with strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to problem solving. You should be confident in managing teams, analysing service demand, and supporting colleagues to deliver patient focused outcomes.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
