Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Website Tester to ensure our website builds are delivered to the highest standards of quality, performance, and usability. You will play a key role in validating website functionality, design accuracy, and technical integrity across multiple devices and browsers.
Key Responsibilities
* Test all websites using appropriate tools, processes, and methodologies.
* Verify that each build faithfully reflects the original design prototype and designers' intent across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
* Collaborate closely with the design and front-end development teams to deliver pixel-perfect, high-quality website builds.
* Perform CMS integration testing in line with designers' integration guides, ensuring all functionality works as intended.
* Identify, document, and track bugs/defects in the bug-tracking system, assigning issues to the correct resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely resolution.
* Provide weekly reports on testing status across all projects.
* Proactively raise risks and issues with your line manager to agree on mitigation actions.
* Ensure all website builds adhere to best practices for:
* SEO – structured to the highest standards
* Accessibility – compliant with relevant international standards
* Performance – speed tested and optimised to meet agreed benchmarks
* Monitor changes in Google Web Vitals and adjust testing processes to stay ahead of industry standards.
* Stay up to date with the latest browser, device, and web technology trends, continuously refining testing processes.
* Carry out additional duties as required by the company.
Skills & Requirements
* Proven experience in website or software QA testing.
* Strong knowledge of cross-browser and cross-device testing.
* Familiarity with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or similar).
* Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and CMS platforms.
* Knowledge of SEO best practices and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
* Experience with performance and speed testing tools (e.g., Google Lighthouse, GTmetrix, WebPageTest).
* Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with designers and developers.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
* A proactive mindset, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and testing practices.
