Position Overview
The post holder will work within a multi‑professional team to develop and deliver services, including the Rapid Access Arrhythmia clinic, arrhythmia clinics, complex device pre‑assessment clinics, and telephone clinics. The role provides expert nursing support for patients requiring electrophysiology procedures and is part of a multidisciplinary team within the cardiology/medical directorate.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the development of Rapid Access Arrhythmia clinic and other arrhythmia clinics.
* Provide expert nursing support for patients requiring electrophysiology procedures.
* Work closely with Consultants, Specialist Registrars, cardiac physiologists, nurses, and other multidisciplinary staff to provide clinical support, education and leadership.
* Assess, plan and implement care, and provide specialist advice and education to patients, carers and colleagues.
* Deliver outpatient clinics for Arrhythmia patients and provide pre‑assessment and ongoing support for patients with complex cardiac devices, both inpatient and outpatient.
* Provide support via the Arrhythmia Helpline.
* Help manage and deliver the Cardioversion Service.
* Help deliver support groups for patients.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered nurse with a special interest in Cardiac Arrhythmia and complex cardiac devices.
* Experience working with patients with cardiac arrhythmia.
* Good understanding of patient needs and competent interpretation of ECGs.
* Ability to provide education and support to patients, carers and colleagues.
