Position Role: OIC of the LOC-C controls the 24 hrs Ops room at Fd Army HQ overseeing all operational matters, operations and deployed personnel acting on behalf of CFA. The LOC-C takes immediate action on behalf of ACOS Ops and OTs in the event of an incident or emerging crisis in any operational theatre. The OIC will manage a 9-person team along with running the Ops Room battle rhythm. Daily the OIC will control / support all deployment and recovery operations including the ORK of the deployment assurance paperwork. Lastly, as the cell lead they are responsible for distributing all operational R2 often on SECRET including monitoring and reporting of media. The OIC will have licence to deliver significant positive impact on both the Land Operations Command and the wider Field Army from delivering structure and order to a team of motivated LOC-C team. Although experience within the responsibilities is highly desirable there will be training for more niche elements (such as PALANTIR) Responsibilities: 1. Responsible to the DACOS G3 act as the lead staff officer in the Land Operation Control Centre (LOC-C) based in Andover. This role requires full presence in the Ops Room. There is limited WfH option due to required access to secure communications. 2. Act as the Duty Officer during the transition period when a crisis passes from a Duty Officer to a Crisis Operational Planning Team (COPT) and be prepared to support the COPT in the event of a crisis 3. Ensure that all UK and multinational secure communications systems are monitored effectively within LOC-C to ensure information is directed speedily to the relevant Ops Team, Divisional HQ, and deployed HQ as required. 4. Provide CFA's Duty Officer with updates on operational and major incidents as they occur. 5. The lead for the integration of Digital Situational Awareness (SA) Management tools (such as Palantir) into the Ops room. Thereafter, to fully manage the intelligence and operational feeds into the Ops room. Daily providing Ops assessments to CoC. Develop and thereafter continue to improve upon LOC-C infrastructure requirements 6. Command and management of Ops Controllers and Ops Control Assistants. There is limited support for the peculiarities of FTRS contracts. The OIC will manage the contract renewals, all MS, discipline and welfare. 7. Provide input and advice into the battle rhythm including providing updates and briefing material to ACOS Ops. 8. Design and deliver a yearly training package to ensure the LOC-C can be a Fully Operating 24/7 Capability. 9. Continue to develop the Standing Operating Procedures & Instructions for the LOC-C in conjunction with Army HQ, PJHQ, JFHQ and FLCs. Domestic Considerations: Based at Army HQ, ANDOVER. There is no accommodation with the role. There is limited ability to work from home due to requirement for secure comms. Working from home may be possible after job is established. Role requires up to 35 nights separated service.
