Your Role as a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
As a Graduate SEN TA, your responsibilities will include:
* Delivering tailored one-to-one and small group support for students with a variety of SEN, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and social, emotional, or mental health needs
* Assisting teachers in adapting lesson materials to ensure inclusive access to learning
* Helping students develop essential life skills such as confidence, independence, and effective communication
* Contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment through supportive behavioural strategies
* Monitoring student progress and working closely with the SENCo to inform individual learning plans
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for graduates who:
* Hold a recent degree (ideally 2:1 or above) in Psychology, Education, or a related field
* Have some experience working with children or young people with SEN – whether in a school, care, or voluntary setting
* Are patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting inclusive education
* Are interested in future careers such as teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or SEN coordination
