Wood is looking for a Planner to support our offshore team on a full‑time basis on either a Fixed Term Contract, PAYE or PSC contract for 6 months. This role is based at our client’s offices in Aberdeen or Barrow‑in‑Furness. The successful individual should preferably have experience in an offshore environment and have current SAP experience.
The role
The Planner will prepare, review and report accurate project schedules and plans to support robust project control throughout the lifecycle. Responsibilities include preparing and submitting project schedules, ensuring they meet contract requirements and Wood & Client policies, supporting the Offshore Planning team, managing project schedule documentation and acting as the focal point for several offshore project scopes.

Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain planning control structures aligned with approved WBS
* Create baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software
* Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of the project lifecycle
* Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction and third parties to track project activities and impact on schedule and manpower
* Prepare and provide copies of project plans, schedules and progress reports in accordance with reporting requirements
* Issue updates to project plans, schedules and manpower requirements
* Assess and communicate schedule impact of change notifications
* Monitor overall project progress, major milestone achievement and performance relative to planned performance
* Attend internal project progress and status meetings as required
* Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate control and forecasting of man‑hour budgets and include impact of all change requests in schedules
* Participate in schedule risk analysis and Project Controls compliance and continuous improvement reviews
Deliverable Expectations
* Project schedules maintained in accordance with approved contract and WBS
* Plans issued in accordance with contract reporting calendar and as required
* All schedules fully logic‑linked, showing critical path and total float for all activities
* Schedule baselined at client approval of funding
* Schedules contain resources per corporate standards
* Work‑pack delivery milestones identified within schedules
* Standard set of agreed milestones maintained in both schedule and cost reporting database
Qualifications
* Typically requires an ISCED Level 6 (Bachelor’s) degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent through vocational training or industry experience)
* SAP experience (required)
* Relevant scheduling/planning experience, preferably offshore
* Proficient in Primavera and other scheduling software, including logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levelling
* Knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Scheduling
* Understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilities
* Ability to develop project schedules and plans
* Ability to prepare resource loading, progress and staffing plans
* Proficiency in earned value application, cost and schedule variance analysis, trending and what‑if scenarios
* Detailed understanding of project management principles and techniques
* Strong understanding of cost management, change control, planning & risk analysis & management
