This role is subject to:
* Casual Car Documentation: The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User, which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis but are not essential to the role. If you drive, you must hold a full valid driving licence, provide your own car for work, and all the appropriate documentation. An allowance per mile of business use will be provided.
* DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance: This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will need to apply for an Enhanced DBS check. Information provided will be handled confidentially and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice. We have a policy on the Employment of Ex-Offenders, available upon request.
The Children and Young People Kickstarter initiative for Making Manchester Fairer has created an opportunity for the Early Years’ Service to recruit a time-limited (until July 2026) Early Years Outreach Worker.
The role involves working as part of a team with partner agencies to support schools in achieving improved development outcomes for children. It includes direct work with families and delivering evidenced-based interventions that improve children’s learning outcomes.

The Early Years’ Service seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual passionate about improving outcomes for children and families in Manchester. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, be able to engage with diverse backgrounds, and be flexible in meeting the needs of families and partners. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
