SEMH Teaching Assistant - Years 2 to 4 students

Annual Salary: £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 (actual salary)
A newly established, purpose-built school set within a stunning 20-acre site is seeking passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join its growing team. The school offers bright, modern classrooms and specialist facilities, including a newly developed Science and Technology building. About the Role
We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support Primary students in Years 2 to 4. You’ll play a key role in supporting children’s learning and wellbeing in small class settings (up to 8 pupils), allowing for strong relationships and personalised support.
Responsibilities
* Supporting pupils with learning, care needs, and behaviour management using a tailored approach.
* Creating a warm, safe, and nurturing environment that promotes independence and personal development.
* Assisting the class teacher in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that challenges and engages pupils.
* Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and learning outcomes.
Working Hours
* 8:30am start daily
* Finish times: 5pm on Mondays, 4:30pm Tuesday to Thursday, and 4pm on Fridays
* Includes 2.5 hours per week for training, development, or additional duties
Requirements
* GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) – essential
* Working towards Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools or equivalent – desirable
* Experience in an educational setting
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
* Experience supporting SEMH learners with complex needs and challenging behaviour
* A commitment to putting children first and treating them as individuals
* Creativity and positivity in meeting pupils’ needs
* Full, clean driving licence
