Directorate:
You will join the Engagement and Partnerships directorate comprising an Engagement and Events Team, Alumni and Philanthropy Team and a Corporate Communications team. These teams play a critical role in engaging with the University's most high‑profile stakeholders at a strategic level. The team safeguards the reputation of the University whilst celebrating its strengths with a regional, national and global audience through dedicated campaigns, events, and communications. This includes extensive engagement with our alumni community and mutually beneficial relationships with influential individuals and trusts and foundations leading to philanthropic giving.
What You Will Be Doing
As Alumni Officer (Communications and Engagement) you will play a pivotal role within the Alumni and Philanthropy team. You will understand the importance, influence and impact of communications and engagement with alumni and will deliver an overarching suite of communications and engagement activities under the direction of the Senior Alumni and Philanthropy Manager.
* Planning and delivering an integrated alumni and philanthropic communications plan.
* Working collaboratively with senior management, academics and professional services colleagues across the University to produce digital communications including alumni e‑newsletters; faculty‑specific alumni e‑newsletters; graduation newsletters; honorary graduate e‑newsletters.
* Leading on the management and development of alumni webpages, social media channels, and email and event management software.
* Supporting the delivery of key international alumni engagement projects including an international alumni ambassador programme.
* Delivering reunions and an events programme (comprising UK and overseas alumni events) focused on increasing alumni engagement and building philanthropic relationships for the University.
Qualifications / Experience
* Level 4 qualification in marketing or a relevant subject area or equivalent experience, or ECDL Qualification.
