HGV Class 2 Driver - £18.00 - £20.00 per Hour CIS - Temporary Contract - ASAP StartWe are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join the Facilities Team of a well-established construction business based at its Head Office in Preston, supporting projects across the North West.This is a temporary position with an immediate start available, offering consistent work for the duration of the contract.The role is based on a 39-hour working week, typically starting at 7:00am, with occasional 6:00am starts when travelling to city-centre locations or to meet project requirements.The Role:You will be responsible for the safe transportation of plant, equipment, materials, and site accommodation across multiple project locations throughout the North West, while also supporting yard operations and facilities activities when required.Duties will include:Delivery, collection, and setup of site accommodation (cabins) to create project administration facilitiesRelocation of site accommodation as required by project programmesDelivery and collection of plant, machinery, and equipment to and from site locationsTransporting scaffold, site fencing, materials, and construction componentsCarrying out miscellaneous lifting operationsAssisting with loading, unloading, housekeeping, and general yard dutiesSupporting the maintenance, preparation, cleaning, painting, and refurbishment of construction site cabinsEnsuring all transport activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures and legislationRequirements:Essential:Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) LicenceValid Driver CPC CardValid Digital Tachograph CardProven experience as an HGV Driver or in a similar roleExcellent driving skills and a clean driving recordPhysical capability to safely load and unload heavy itemsGood understanding of current road haulage legislation and HGV operationsThorough knowledge of the North West road networkStrong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice within haulage and construction environmentsEffective problem-solving skillsAbility to work to deadlines and manage changing prioritiesGood written and verbal communication skillsDesirable:Lorry Loader (HIAB) LicenceAll Terrain Forklift LicenceTelehandler LicencePrevious experience working within construction or facilities environmentsWhat's on Offer:£18.00 per hour CISTemporary contract39-hour working weekImmediate start availableVaried role supporting construction projects across the North WestSupportive and professional working environmentThis is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver looking for their next contract with a respected construction business operating across the North West.Immediate starts available.To Apply:If you're available to start and meet the above requirements, please call Lucy at Building Careers on 01695 556800 / 07897 069193 .Building Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
