Design & Technology Technician
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time, term-time (part-time considered)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a secondary school in the Wellingborough area to recruit a Design & Technology Technician to support the delivery of high-quality DT lessons across the department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, organised individual with strong technical skills to play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning within Design & Technology.
The role will involve:
1. Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for DT lessons
2. Supporting staff and students during practical sessions where required
3. Maintaining, servicing, and safely storing tools and machinery
4. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within workshops
5. Managing stock levels, ordering materials, and maintaining inventories
6. Supporting the upkeep and organisation of DT classrooms and workshops
The ideal candidate will:
7. Have experience working in a workshop, technical, or school-based DT environment
8. Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures
9. Be practical, reliable, and well organised
10. Be able to work independently and as part of a team
11. Have experience with materials such as wood, metal, plastics, textiles, or food technology (desirable but not essential)
