Our client, a well-established engineering company, is looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Lincolnshire. The successful candidate will bring strong 3D design experience, a practical understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to deliver robust engineering solutions.
Position Details
* Type: Permanent
* Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (DOE)
* Working days: Monday to Friday
* Location: Lincolnshire
Job Description
* Design and develop conveyors and material handling equipment.
* Produce detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
* Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and cost‑effective.
* Support projects from initial concept through to installation and commissioning.
* Carry out design calculations and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
* Liaise with internal teams and clients to meet project requirements and deadlines.
* Support continuous improvement of design processes and product development.
* Provide technical support during build and installation phases.
Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
* Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.
* Experience designing conveyors, handling systems, or similar machinery.
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence (desirable).
