Our focus will be to ensure that cricket is“a Sport for all”and that everyone feels welcome to be involved in our sport in the way that is best for them.Our strategy will be delivered by adhering to our values; Together, Lead, Care. These values will guide everything we do as Trustees on behalf of Criced Cymru.Criced Cymru StrategyThe Trustees are accountable to ensure the company meets its legal obligations and for the performance of Cricket Wales in its mission and delivery of strategy. The Trustees provide appropriate oversight, scrutiny, challenge, and leadership to the company in the pursuit of its aim to provide effective and high-quality services to its members and grow cricket in Wales. They have a particular role in scrutinising the performance of the senior executive management team in meeting agreed goals and objectives and monitoring the reporting of performance. Skills in areas such as strategic planning, financial planning, developing new income streams, governance and risk management are among those we are looking for in our Trustees.To be eligible to apply to be a Recreational Game Trustee you must be a member of an organisation that affiliates to Cricket Wales or of an organisation that is a Member or Associate Member of Cricket Wales, and you must be nominated and seconded by members of a Member or Associate Member of Cricket Wales.We welcome applications from anyone who meets the eligibility criteria and never having been a Trustee before is not a barrier to being part of our Board as a full induction will be providedIn this instance we would particularly welcome applications from people with a strong interest and experience in one or more of the following;
* Generating income from sponsorship, commercial relationships, or charitable donations
* Governance and Compliance with the potential to take on the role of Company Secretary
Cricket Wales is committed to providing equitable opportunities. While we will always appoint on merit, we would particularly encourage applications from under- represented groups and communities in cricket – especially female or ethnically diverse people, or those who identify as having a disability.Board meetings are held in the day time up to 6 times per year, usually at The Sophia Gardens Stadium, Cardiff, but also in other locations around Wales, and, if necessary, via Teams/Zoom. Trustees will also serve on one or two Board Committees which meet 4/6 times a year as required; these are usually evening meetings held via Teams / Zoom.In addition, Trustees are invited to attend official events such as presentations, competition finals and other relevant meetings.
