Are you a proactive Water Hygiene professional seeking a new dynamic role? Join our team to ensure the cleanliness and safety of water systems, safeguarding public health and ensuring regulatory compliance.
As a Water Hygiene Engineer, you'll conduct crucial monitoring, testing, and maintenance of water systems, including temperature checks, sampling, and disinfection of tanks and cooling towers. Your role involves compliance checks, meticulous record-keeping, and effective client communication.
Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities
As a Water Hygiene Engineer, your role is critical in ensuring water systems are safe, clean, and compliant. You'll primarily be out on customer sites performing a range of essential tasks:
* Monitoring & Testing: Conduct regular water hygiene monitoring and testing, including temperature checks, water sampling for analysis (e.g., Legionella), and visual inspections of water systems like tanks and pipework.
* Maintenance & Remedial Actions: Perform cleaning and disinfection (e.g., chlorination) of cold water storage tanks and calorifiers. You'll also carry out minor remedial works such as showerhead descales or flushing stagnant sections.
* Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all work adheres strictly to HSG 274 and other relevant standards. You'll accurately record all data, test results, and observations, providing clear reports to clients and internal teams.
* Client Interaction: Communicate professionally with clients and site managers, offering expert advice and recommendations on water hygiene issues.
Key Skills Required:
* City & Guilds Level 3 in Plumbing, or equivalent.
* Experience with HSG 274 routine monitoring tasks.
* Full, Clean UK driving licence and a Clear Enhanced DBS check.
* Background in Building Services or Environmental Consultancy is a plus.
