About The Role
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the successful delivery of projects from contract award to completion and close-out.
Location: Aberdeen
Project Location: Grangemouth
Contract Length: 6 months
Service provision to ensure successful delivery of projects from contract award to completion and close-out.
Responsibilities:
* Main point of contact for Client, acting as “Project Responsible Person”.
* Identify and confirm the overall project scope and ensure delivery.
* Execute work according to schedule and budget.
* Conduct project kick-off meetings following company procedures.
* Prepare cost estimates, select pricing formats, and define terms & conditions for each project.
* Identify additional project requirements and manage change control, including scope and commercial impacts.
* Coordinate efforts of multi-discipline engineering teams.
* Manage sub-contracts and liaise with vendors.
* Perform project tasks both in office and on-site.
* Assist in resource planning and allocation.
* Ensure compliance with client specifications while protecting company interests.
* Work proactively with Cost & Planning Engineers to manage costs and schedules.
* Build rapport with client representatives.
* Identify and address budget and schedule variances promptly.
* Monitor man-hour expenditure and physical progress.
* Manage Work in Progress costs and maximize invoicing.
* Evaluate RFQs, conduct bid evaluations, and recommend purchase orders.
* Review and approve purchase invoices.
* Identify scope changes and coordinate with relevant teams.
* Ensure compliance with QA, health & safety, and environmental policies.
* Approve project plans submitted to clients.
About You
Qualifications / Training
* Degree in Engineering or Project Management (preferred).
* HND or equivalent in relevant discipline.
* Membership or working towards professional accreditation.
* Project Management training (PMI or APM accredited).
Knowledge / Competence
* Understanding of engineering interfaces and industry standards.
* Experience in offshore industry projects, including construction to close-out.
* Proficiency in planning software.
* Problem-solving and contingency planning skills.
* Commercial awareness and sound judgment.
* Experience in managing teams.
* Proficient in MS Office.
* Excellent English communication skills.
