About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Group Financial Accountant to join the finance team at an exciting time of transformation. This is a high-impact role with responsibility for statutory reporting, financial controls, and continuous improvement across the finance function.
You’ll lead and develop a small team, play a key role in external reporting, and act as a technical accounting expert across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory & External Reporting
* Lead the production of the Group Annual Report and Interim Statements
* Oversee consolidation and subsidiary statutory accounts
* Act as the main point of contact for external auditors
* Prepare technical accounting papers for the Audit Committee
* Deliver training on new accounting standards and technical updates
Financial Control & Governance
* Assess and enhance financial controls across the business
* Partner with Tax and Risk teams to document processes and develop audit plans
* Ensure compliance with IFRS and best practice governance
Process Improvement & Systems
* Identify inefficiencies and drive automation initiatives
* Continuously improve accounting processes and systems
* Support master data management and systems accounting
Management & Leadership
* Lead, coach, and develop Credit Control and Systems Accounting teams
* Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
* Provide broader leadership across a team of six
Management Reporting
* Support monthly management accounts production
* Review key group postings (e.g. IFRS 2, IFRS 16)
* Assist with cashflow, balance sheet, and consolidation reviews
About You
* ACA qualified with 3+ years post-qualification experience
* Strong technical knowledge of IFRS (including IFRS 2 and IFRS 16)
* Experience in a listed / plc environment preferred
* Proven experience in statutory reporting and audits
* Strong understanding of internal controls and risk frameworks
* Systems experience (ideally Business Central)
* Advanced Excel and strong PowerPoint/Word skills
* A hands-on, proactive approach with excellent stakeholder management skills
