MAINTENANCE MANAGER.
FAST-PACED. TRANSFORMATIONAL. EDUCATION SECTOR.
Ready to take the lead on a brand-new, national maintenance function? This is your chance to build, shape, and deliver an in-house maintenance strategy for a growing, award-winning nursery group – with sites spanning the UK.
What’s in it for you?
* Salary £55k–£75k + car allowance or company car + fuel card
* Be part of a business investing in people, places, and growth
* The opportunity to create and lead an in-house maintenance function for the very first time
Who are they?
A forward-thinking, independent nursery group operating 50+ sites nationwide. With ambitious expansion plans and a commitment to raising standards across every part of the business, they’re investing heavily in property, refurbishments, and now maintenance.
Previously outsourced, the maintenance function is being brought in-house – and this role will be central to making it efficient, effective, and reliable.
What will you be doing?
As Maintenance Manager, you’ll lead a team both at head office and across the UK, ensuring resources are allocated smartly and every site gets the support it needs.
Day to day, you’ll:
* Oversee reactive maintenance requests – from broken fences to larger repairs
* Manage the national team – planning resources, priorities, and workloads
* Travel to sites for bigger projects or to provide hands-on support when needed
* Shape and implement a more proactive approach to maintenance
* Build strong relationships with nursery managers, ensuring the service is consistent and responsive
1. This is a brand-new role – a chance to shape how the function works, with the full backing of senior leadership.
What about you?
You don’t need to come from nurseries to excel here. In fact, hospitality, retail, or other fast-paced, multi-site backgrounds could be a great fit. What matters is your ability to combine operational oversight with a hands-on approach.
You’ll need:
* Proven experience managing maintenance teams across multiple sites
* Strong organisational and planning skills – able to juggle priorities at pace
* Great people skills – this is about building trust with a team that’s already well-established and knows their craft
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset – “nothing’s too much trouble” attitude
