Overview

We have an opportunity for a Medical Records Officer to join our team in the Medical Records department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis; you will be expected to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff during annual leave or absence.
Duties of this role include
* Prepare patient records for upcoming clinics, admissions, investigations, and procedures.
* Ensure all required documentation (e.g., consent forms, test results, referral letters) is accurately filed and accessible for clinical teams.
* Locate and retrieve patient notes efficiently when requested by clinical, admin, or legal teams.
* Log and track movement of physical records across departments using tracking systems.
* Handle patient information with the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion.
* Comply with GDPR, Caldicott principles, and local information governance policies.
Applicants should meet the following criteria
* Previous administrative experience, ideally in a healthcare or records-focused role.
* Good understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and information governance.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good organisational skills and ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
* Comfortable working with IT systems and databases.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and respectful manner.
