ABOUT THE ROLE This is a senior, hands-on HR role reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for delivering and embedding the company’s people strategy while supporting leaders to build high-performing teams across the business. Working closely with the leadership team, the Senior HR Business Partner will provide practical HR leadership, partnering with managers to support performance, engagement and organisational growth while ensuring the business continues to foster a positive, values-led culture. Operating within a growing scale-up environment, this role requires someone who is both commercially aware and operationally strong, able to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery across the full employee lifecycle. This role will suit someone who enjoys being close to the business and operating in a hands-on environment. You will be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and delivering HR in practice, supporting leaders, resolving people challenges and embedding the company’s people strategy day to day. ABOUT YOU You will likely have experience operating as a Senior HR Business Partner, Head of People or HR Manager within a founder-led, fast-growing business, where you have been responsible for delivering HR across the full employee lifecycle. You enjoy working closely with leaders, navigating people challenges in real time and taking ownership of the practical implementation of HR initiatives that support business growth. You are comfortable operating in a hands-on environment, balancing commercial awareness with pragmatic HR delivery, and enjoy being close to the business, rolling up your sleeves and making HR happen in practice. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: HR Business Partnering Act as a trusted HR partner to the CEO and leadership team, supporting leaders to deliver high performance, engagement and strong team culture. Provide pragmatic advice and guidance to managers on people matters including performance, development, engagement and organisational effectiveness. Support leaders in navigating change, growth and evolving team structures. Employee Relations & HR Operations Lead and manage employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence processes. Ensure HR policies, procedures and practices remain legally compliant and aligned with best practice. Maintain consistent and fair approaches across the business, supporting managers to build confidence in managing people issues. Talent & People Development Support hiring managers to attract and recruit high-quality talent aligned with the Absolute Collagen brand and culture. Help develop and implement initiatives that support employee development, engagement and career progression. Work with leaders to strengthen management capability and support the growth of high-performing teams. Reward, Benefits & Payroll Support the development and implementation of reward and benefits practices that are competitive and aligned with company growth. Work closely with Finance to ensure payroll processes run smoothly and employees receive a seamless experience. Monitor market trends and make recommendations where appropriate. People Operations & Insights Oversee day-to-day HR operations including contracts, policies, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes. Maintain accurate HR data and reporting to support informed decision making. Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on people trends, risks and opportunities. KEY REQUIREMENTS: Proven experience in a Senior HR Business Partner or HR Manager role within a fast-paced commercial environment (FMCG, beauty, D2C, retail or similar). Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice. Experience supporting senior leaders and influencing stakeholders. Comfortable working in a small team with a hands-on approach. Commercially minded with the ability to balance people priorities with business needs. CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) desirable.
