Crane & Heavy Plant Operator – 10-Hour Days Location: Birmingham & West Midlands region (UK) Working Hours: 10-hour shifts (details discussed at interview) About the Role We’re recruiting an experienced Crane and Heavy Plant Operator to work within a busy metal recycling and materials handling environment. You’ll play a vital part in daily site operations, safely moving, loading and organising metals and materials around the yard. Key Responsibilities * Operate overhead cranes, grab cranes or material handlers to move ferrous and non-ferrous metals safely and efficiently across the site. * Operate heavy plant equipment (e.g., excavators, telehandlers, material handlers), maintaining control and precision throughout your shift. * Perform pre-use inspections and basic maintenance checks on plant and lifting equipment. * Load and unload deliveries, keeping materials sorted and in the correct areas for processing. * Work with the yard team to support smooth logistic flows and assist with general yard duties. * Ensure all activities are carried out with a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental best practice.
