Job Description
We are seeking a Health & Safety Manager for our Wakefield Processing Centre to coordinate and manage the environment, health, and safety functions across the distribution site. The role involves promoting health and safety best practices, creating safety programs, and managing environmental initiatives, including waste management, to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ownership of site SHE plan and ensuring compliance with company health and safety policies.
2. Participate in and advise the health and safety committee and other relevant committees.
3. Manage incident control procedures and documentation.
4. Stay updated on legislation, regulations, and best practices related to health and safety, and implement necessary actions.
5. Make recommendations and plans following external investigations or audits.
6. Lead the development and delivery of health and safety training programs.
7. Implement and manage health and safety induction programs.
8. Provide first-line health and safety advice to line managers.
9. Promote accident prevention, safe working practices, and health initiatives.
10. Maintain accident/incident reporting procedures and oversee investigations.
11. Manage correspondence with statutory bodies, ensuring full compliance in reporting and investigating RIDDOR accidents.
12. Oversee first aid facilities and support services.
13. Review and update risk assessments and implement necessary actions.
14. Manage waste procedures and promote best practices.
15. Build relationships with local authorities and regulatory bodies.
16. Partner with operations to reduce sickness and absenteeism through occupational health initiatives.

1. NEBOSH qualification.
2. Experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
3. Knowledge of Waste management practices.
