Protocol Education is working with a friendly Gateshead primary school to recruit a SEND Support Assistant to work across Early Years and Key Stage 1. This role is all about connection, patience, and making learning accessible for every child.
What your day will look like:
You’ll be right at the heart of the classroom, supporting children who need extra guidance to thrive. Your day will be varied, fast-paced, and incredibly rewarding.
You’ll spend time:
* Working 1:1 with children who need additional support to stay engaged
* Listening to pupils read and helping them build confidence with phonics
* Supporting classroom activities and adapting tasks to suit individual needs
* Encouraging positive behaviour and helping children regulate emotions
* Creating a safe, calm, and supportive learning environment
You’ll quickly become a familiar, trusted adult — someone pupils rely on not just for learning, but for encouragement and reassurance.

Working hours:
* Monday to Friday
* 8:30am – 3:30pm
