SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – Mainstream Primary School in Garstang Location: Garstang Start date: ASAP or September 2026 Contract: Flexible hours – role based on school need Salary: £14.25–£15.00 per hour (PAYE) Teaching Personnel are supporting a welcoming mainstream primary school in the Garstang area who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil requiring additional support. About the Role As the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide personalised support to a pupil with additional needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or Speech & Language). Adapt learning activities and scaffold tasks to support progress and engagement. Promote independence, emotional regulation, and positive learning behaviours. Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals. Build a supportive and trusting relationship with the pupil. Are calm, patient, and adaptable. Have strong communication skills and can build positive relationships. Are passionate about supporting children both academically and emotionally. A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
