Automation, Controls & Electrical Engineer – Manufacturing Site Support (Permanent) We are working with a specialist engineering consultancy that supports major manufacturing clients across the UK. They are currently seeking an Automation, Controls & Electrical Engineer to join their team in Plymouth, working full-time on-site with one of their largest clients at a major manufacturing facility in Estover. About the Role: You’ll be joining a dedicated on-site engineering team, supporting both new automation installations and existing systems. This is a varied and hands-on role, combining technical project delivery with ongoing support and maintenance across electrical, controls, and instrumentation platforms. You'll be based four days per week on-site, with one day working remotely. The role suits candidates with strong foundational skills in automation and electrical systems—whether you're a few years post-grad or a more experienced engineer seeking a technically engaging position. Key Responsibilities: Support and maintain automation and control systems on-site. Deliver technical input across new installations and existing infrastructure. Provide electrical and instrumentation support, ensuring high reliability and uptime. Contribute to project work and technical troubleshooting in a live manufacturing environment. Utilise Electrical CAD tools and relevant software to support design and maintenance tasks. What We're Looking For: 2 years’ experience in an automation, controls, or electrical engineering role (mid to senior levels also considered). Solid knowledge in electrical systems, control panels, instrumentation, and PLC-based automation. Familiarity with Electrical CAD software is desirable. Strong team collaboration and problem-solving abilities. What’s On Offer: Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on experience.
