The GM Digital Transformation Team
The team consists of digital transformation and project management professionals with technical expertise. They collaborate with ten local authorities and other partners to deliver pan-GM digital programs, projects, and products.
The team:
* Delivers regional or cross-organizational digital transformation initiatives that cannot be undertaken independently by a single locality.
* Builds strategic digital and data products in collaboration with stakeholders to enhance public services.
* Facilitates the GM digital transformation system for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation.

The Role:
We are seeking a User Researcher to join the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. This role involves ensuring our services meet user needs through comprehensive research on user interactions.
You will conduct research to understand user behaviors, needs, and motivations, utilizing methods like usability testing, surveys, ethnographic studies, card sorting, and interviews. Collaboration with designers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders is essential to translate research into actionable insights for product development. Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills are required.

You will need to familiarize yourself with the Government Digital Service Manual, the GDS Design System, and the UK Government Technology Code of Practice, as we follow the Government Digital and Data Profession Capability standards for User Researcher.

* Skills in designing and facilitating research methods such as usability testing, interviews, surveys, and workshops.
