Deputy Projects Manager (Fixed Term - 3 Years) The Northern Ireland Fishery Harbour Authority (NIFHA) is the leading provider of harbour and ancillary services to the Northern Ireland Sea Fishing Industry and owns and operates the ports of Ardglass, Kilkeel and Portavogie. WorksmaybefundedthroughbudgetprovisionorGrants.Thepostholderwillpreparegrantapplicationsandbusinesscasestoappropriaterequirementsoffundingbodiesandprovidemonitoringandreporting. Theroleisaimedataself-starterwhowillbeabletoworkontheirown,andwillnotbedauntedbyplanning,completing,andimplementingtheirpersonalworkschedule,independently. Thepostholdermusthaveaninnovativeapproachtotheirworkandhavearealcommitmenttoinspiringchange. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Thekeydutiesoftheroleareproviding: ProjectManagementandsimilarfunctionsforNIFHAandensuringthatcapital/grant-fundedprojectscomplywithpolicy,statutoryandlegalrequirements and ActingasNIFHAProjectSponsorandensuringprojectsaredesignedanddeliveredtomeetthespeci?cneedforprojectandthatthisiscommunicatedtotherelevantstakeholders,enduserandcustomers. The key responsibilities of the role are: WorkingwithNIFHAmanagementandstakeholderstoidentifyprojectswhichcontributetomeetingNIFHAsstatutoryduties,itscorporateplanandneedsoftheorganisation RepresentingNIFHAatliaisonmeetingswithexternalbodiesandconsultantsatseniorandoperationallevel WorkingwiththeDepartmentalfundingbodyandapplyingforprojectfundinginlinewithschemeguidance CompletionofbusinesscasestoDepartmentalrequirementsinsupportoffundingapplications Developmentofprojectsbriefsforcommissioningexternalconsultantsandworkingcloselywiththemindeveloping: scopeofworksandminimumrequirementsforprojects Developingandmaintainingprojectriskregisters Preparationofprojectdeliverplans Workingwithexternalconsultantsandleadingtheprocurementofandcontractorsonprojects Managingconsultants/contractorstodelivervalueformoney EnsuringHealthandSafetyise?ectivelymanagedandimplementedthroughprojectlifecycle Coordinatinginputfrominternalstakeholdersandteamsintakingforwardprojects Monitoringandreportingonprojectprogressandprojectteamperformance Preparingandreportingtofundingbodiesinlinewithconditionoffunding PreparingreportsandpapersforNIFHABoardmeetings Maintainingprofessionalstandardswithinprojectteamsandapplyingthesetoachieveworkobjectives Creating,maintainingandenhancinge?ectiveworkingrelationships Anyotherrelevantdutiesasrequiredbymanagement. A HNC in a construction-related discipline; * Relevant or equivalent qualifications: give the type of qualification and date awarded (the date awarded is the date on which you were notified of your result by the official awarding body). If you believe your qualification is equivalent to the one required, the onus is on you to provide the panel with details of modules studied etc so that a well-informed decision can be made. Start dates (mm/yy) and end dates (mm/yy) for each project should be given in your response.
