Overview
As a Pathology Doctor with Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust you will be able to contribute to a multidisciplinary team, lead where appropriate, and use diagnostic skills to inform patient care. You will be involved in diagnosing and advising on investigations, clinical care, ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and the management of the Pathology Department. You will work within a friendly, multidisciplinary team and use advanced medical equipment to diagnose, treat, and prevent disease.
Responsibilities
* Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain a diagnosis using various methods to ensure practical understanding.
* Work in and where appropriate, lead a multidisciplinary team.
* Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others.
* Examine a range of patients, using your diagnostic skills to determine any tests needed.
* Support and advise clinical staff, informing them of the use and limitations of each diagnostic investigation.
* Provide advice and interpret test results, assessing the appropriateness of further investigations.
* Deliver clinical care to patients where needed and conduct ward rounds and outpatient clinics.
* Oversee the smooth running of the Pathology Department, including planning workload and staffing where required.
* Supervise and teach junior medical staff as required.
* Carry out research and stay up to date with new information.
* Adhere to the NMC professional Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
* Be a GMC registered Doctor with full license to practice.
* Must hold FRCPath Part 2.
* Completion of higher training (CCT or within 6 months of obtaining).
* Applicants without CCT registration must demonstrate extensive experience working at consultant grade and hold FRCPath Part 2.
* Must have evidence of Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for locum roles).
* Pass an enhanced DBS background check.
* Willing to work as PAYE only and not Ltd for NHS locum work.
