Overview
Environmental Consultant role at Mott MacDonald. The focus of the role will be the environmental assessment of energy projects in the UK, primarily in the nuclear, networks and energy transition sectors for a range of clients. There will also be opportunities to work on projects in Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. We are involved in significant generation projects including nuclear, solar, hydro, wind, and thermal transition technologies.

Key Elements Of The Role
* Support UK Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for energy projects (including for Development Consent Orders).
* Perform due diligence for a variety of energy projects.
* Support the delivery of environmental management plans.
* Coordinate inputs from specialists and work closely with engineering colleagues to ensure environmental considerations are integrated during project development.
* Prepare proposals and contribute to project delivery.
You’ll be part of a truly multidisciplinary team, collaborating with environmental specialists, social specialists and engineers.
Essential Candidate Specification
* Fluent in English.
* Degree and Masters in an environmental subject.
* Experience of EIAs for UK energy projects (transmission and distribution, solar, hydro, wind, thermal generation technologies).
* Ability to review complex documents and present key issues clearly and concisely.
* Understanding of technical aspects of energy projects and ability to travel.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills; ability to work within a team and deliver to high standards; able to meet budgets and timescales.
* Membership of a relevant professional institute.
Desirable
* High standard in an environmental specialism with awareness of other environmental or social disciplines.
* Experience with options appraisals, iterative design processes, DCO applications, and environmental permitting.
* Experience in preparing proposals for new project opportunities.
* Understanding of technical aspects of other major infrastructure projects.
