Hourly Rate - Circa £20p/hour (based on experience)
Control Engineer Overview
We are seeking a Controls / PLC Engineer to develop, debug and maintain control programs for new and existing machinery. The role involves creating reliable, high-quality PLC software, supporting machine commissioning and troubleshooting, and working closely with Electrical Design Engineers to ensure all control system requirements are met.
The Control Engineer role will involve:
* Writing and debugging PLC programs
* Developing and improving HMI screens
* Supporting machine build, testing and commissioning
* Troubleshooting control system faults
* Working with Electrical Engineers on sensors, drives and safety systems
* Ensuring software is safe, reliable and properly documented
The Control Engineer must have the following attributes:
* Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Strong PLC programming experience
* Must have some experience with Omron PLC
* Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
* Knowledge of drives, servos and control systems
