Salary will be £48,822 per annum, with an annual increment up to £56,535 per annum.

Lecturer in Criminal Law

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching Criminal law and at least one other core module on our LLB curriculum. Teaching is a key part of this role and as such you will be expected to contribute to module organisation, planning and assessment, as well as supervising dissertation or PhD students. For ATR, the successful candidate will also undertake research within the framework of the School’s research strategy. This means producing high quality publications, as well as securing research funding, developing research impact, and contributing to the School’s strong research environment. For ATS they will be expected to further develop their expertise in Criminal Law (and any other relevant subjects) through appropriate scholarship activity.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject area or be near completion with submission within six months of commencement of the post. For both ATR or ATS appointment they must also have teaching experience and be able to meet all essential criteria as detailed in the candidate brochure. For ATR only they must also have a strong research profile.
This full-time post is available from 3 August 2026 on an indefinite basis.
