Responsibilities
As a Connectivity Proposal Specialist, you will become the recognised subject‑matter expert for RM’s Broadband, Telephony and Safeguarding portfolio, and will support the Go to Market division by:
* Developing proposals for prospective customers through bids, modelling services and writing compliant, high‑quality responses; supporting pre‑bid activity such as responding to market engagement questionnaires.
* Writing proposals for prospective customers, helping Sales colleagues identify customers eligible for direct award and developing proposals to submit to them.
* Developing renewals and proposals for existing customers, supporting Sales to identify growth opportunities by analysing data and turning that into insights, and expanding our offering through proposals.
* Acting as the subject‑matter expert on all things Broadband, Telephony and Safeguarding, monitoring the progress of opportunities and reporting to internal teams and RM Broadband partners.
* Building and sharing market knowledge from connectivity partners, maintaining close relationships with RM Telecommunication partners, and supporting the broadband team.
* Maintaining knowledge of the schools’ broadband market, including trends across technology and education, and how RM’s products and services connect to these to help educators and enrich the lives of learners.
Experience
You will have experience of:
* Working within a customer‑focused environment, understanding their needs and requirements.
* Understanding products and solutions, mapping them to customer needs.
* Bid/proposal writing.
You will be:
* An enthusiastic, articulate and effective communicator, able to demonstrate to potential customers how RM’s solutions can meet their needs.
* A strong collaborator, willing to bring your best to the team for collective success.
* Confident in assessing how best to work with sales colleagues to meet growth targets; we encourage teams to consider all options in meeting growth targets.
* Confident communicating through writing, informal speech and presentation.
* Comfortable working with and analysing numbers.
* Good analytical, judgement and decision‑making skills, using them to qualify opportunities and assess conversion; degree level qualification or alternative experience acceptable.
* Strong planning and organising skills, managing pipeline, work and opportunities.
* Financial literacy and Excel skills, building commercial models as part of proposals.
* Results orientation with passion for achievement against objectives, targets and KPIs.
* Flexible can‑do attitude with willingness and ability to adapt and learn within the role.
