Platers Wanted – Hinkley Point C Nuclear New Build Project
We are currently seeking experienced Platers to join our team on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear New Build Plant. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity to work on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Interpret engineering and fabrication drawings to develop fabrication plans
* Select appropriate tools and equipment to complete fabrication tasks
* Perform general fabrication shop assembly including burning and grinding
* Carry out plating tasks including cutting, shaping, fabricating, and assembling plate and structural steelwork
* Fabricate and repair skin casing, ductwork, hangers, and supports
* Work in line with specific task instructions (method statements, task plans, etc.)
* Adhere to strict Quality Assurance processes and procedures
* Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Plater in a fabrication or heavy engineering environment
* Ability to work accurately from technical drawings
* Experience on large-scale construction or energy projects (preferred)
* Strong focus on health, safety, and quality standards
Qualifications & Training:
Candidates must meet one of the following training/qualification
routes
(or be willing to complete them as part of the role):
* Enrolment onto ILM Level 3 Certificate in Construction & Built Environment (C&BE), plus
* Completion of Nuclear Unit
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), and
* IOSH Managing Safely
* Hours & Pay:
* Standard working hours: 38 hours/week, Monday – Thursday
* Overtime available and paid at enhanced rates
* Generous nightshift uplift
