SEN School & Alternative Provision in Portsmouth - MUST DRIVE!
Academics are seeking an experienced Outreach Teaching Assistant to join a Special School and Alternative Provision in Portsmouth, for young people across yr3 - KS4, who have a range of range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) developmental needs and / or medical needs
They are looking for a strong yet empathetic Outreach Teaching Assistant who is available to start ASAP or in January 2026 on a full-time, on-going contract. There is the opportunity there for a permanent contract if this is of interest to you.
You will be required to support pupils on a 1;1 and small group basis offsite in the Portsmouth area. Due to the nature of the environment this would be suited to someone with experience of working with children with challenging behaviours in an SEN/SEMH school.
You will be picking up and dropping off students to their homes and taking them out to various places within the local community to carry out activities and encourage learning, with the aim of getting them back into a school setting. You will always be working with another member of staff. As this is an outreach role, you must be a driver and have access to your own vehicle. Mileage is claimed per mile.
